Why I’m the therapist you are looking for?

Hello, my name is Dominika Chalder, and I practise modern hypno-psychotherapy, a progressive, inquiring, and creative approach to healing. I bring a non-judgemental and insightful presence to guide you through a process of self-discovery and personal growth.

What sets me apart from other therapists and coaches is my skilful integration of clinical hypnosis and mindfulness, allowing us to work with your challenges at a deeper, unconscious level.

When you experience an altered state of consciousness in therapy, your brain becomes calmer and more receptive, releasing dopamine and serotonin, which help you learn new ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving. This neuroplastic state makes it possible to create long-lasting change, often more swiftly than with traditional talk therapy alone.

I focus on what’s right with you, helping you uncover and strengthen your innate abilities. This approach brings a sense of empowerment and meaningful improvements in your quality of life.

My story and background

I have a neurodivergent brain with strong ADHD traits. Over the past 20 years, I navigated academic and corporate environments, often feeling like a square peg in a round hole, trying to adapt to systems not built for minds like mine. Despite working with several coaches and therapists, nothing seemed to shift the core of my experience, and I was left feeling frustrated and disheartened.

Things began to change when I came across emerging research on the limbic system (the part of the brain that governs emotion and unconscious response) and its role in ADHD. I realised that traditional cognitive approaches weren’t enough. To make lasting changes, I needed methods that could initially bypass the thinking mind and work directly with the unconscious. This led me to explore hypno-psychotherapy and mindfulness, approaches that gently shift the brain’s state of awareness.

For the first time, I felt like I was coming home to myself. I learned how to work with my ADHD rather than against it. That experience inspired me to train in Integrative Psychotherapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Mindfulness Meditation, and ultimately become a therapist. I’m now researching how hypno-psychotherapy can support executive functioning, using ADHD as a case study; combining neuroscience, lived experience, and therapeutic practice in a way that’s both rigorous and personal.

Interests that influence my practice

I’m passionate about boogie-boarding. There’s something humbling and enlivening about being in the water: responding to changing waves, not controlling them, but learning to ride with what is. That mindset deeply informs how I work therapeutically. Just like navigating the ocean, therapy isn’t about fixing or forcing; it’s about building awareness, finding rhythm, and moving with whatever life brings with courage, flexibility and presence. The sea teaches me to trust the process, and I bring that same grounded responsiveness into our sessions.

In my free time I’m also a painter and exhibiting artist.

My creativity brings a valuable skill in therapy because it allows me to help my clients devise solutions to their complex problems. I believe that therapy is as much an art as a science. It’s about painting intuitively with balance and harmony rather than ‘painting by numbers’.  My therapeutic approach feels very natural and is always tailored to your individual needs.

I weave psychotherapeutic techniques in our conversations and practising altered mental states, so you won’t experience endless form filling or laborious explanations of a hypothetical theory of human behavior.
